International Festival Chorus Presents 'Shakespeare in Song', April 23

As this year is the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, the International Festival Chorus are honoring Shakespeare by performing an all-Bard program, titled Shakespeare in Song, on the actual day (Apr 23).

The program, carefully put together by the choir's artistic director Nicholas Smith, showcases a wide range of music with both contemporary composers and composers from the present day including Shakespeare Songs by William Matthias, Songs and Sonnets by George Shearing, and a stunning lament for women's voices by Ernest Chausson taken from Much Ado About Nothing.

You might recognize the IFC from their performance of Handel's Messiah last December at Harrow International School, or their exploration of Chinese choral history during Production Cantata last October.

The performance starts at 7pm on April 23 at Peking University Hall. For a full run-down of the program and to buy tickets, check out the IFC website here.
