Press Your Black T-Shirt: Armani to Design Beijing Homes

Just when you thought it was safe to dress down at home, Giorgio Armani comes along and says he's going to design homes in Beijing.

The Giorgio Armani Group's Armani Casa and Beijing's Smart Hero Group will collaborate on the Smart Hero-Central Park Plaza, set to open in 2017 next to Chaoyang Park, Women's Wear Daily reported Tuesday.

“'The Chinese concept of ‘Union of Nature and Man’ perfectly fits the aesthetic I developed for Armani/Casa, which constantly aspires at creating a sense of harmony inside the indoor spaces while respecting their natural context. The idea of matching an aesthetic created by people with natural materials and shapes represents for me the ultimate contemporary luxury,'" Armani said in a statement.

Armani isn't the only label in the Beijing structure game. Bulgari is set to open a designer hotel along the Liangma River, also in 2017.
