Bowled Away: French Pétanque Party at Nali Patio this Sunday

Nali Patio comes over all French this Sunday, June 28, as it plays host to a party honoring that most gallic of pastimes, pétanque.

Originating in Provence in the early twentieth century, pétanque is a form of boules (or bowls as we might know it in the west), where the aim is to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a wooden jack. Players must throw the boules while standing stationary with two feet on the ground or risk disqualification.

The party will be held from 2-9pm at Nali Patio in Sanlitun. The RMB 100 entry fee gets you two drinks and a host of French snacks.

This Sunday's party is part of the warm up for nationwide pétanque tour launching in Suzhou on September 12, and continuing through 14 major cities in China until December.
