EAT: Crazy Lunch Deals
Feel like you're a fast eater? Then you're going to love the new lunch deal at Kerry's Kitchen, which invites you to beat the "lunch race" and finish your noontime victuals within 30 minutes. Should you do so, you'll pay just RMB 99 (plus 15 percent service charge). Be wary though, diners will be charged RMB 4 for every extra minute they spend at the table.
If you prefer to take your lunch at a more leisurely pace, round the corner at the Rosewood Beijing they have some pretty good lunch deals at both Bistrot B and northern Chinese restaurant Country Kitchen. Bistrot B offers a rotating selection of plats du jour for RMB 190, including dishes such as tagliolini à la Niçoise and sweet and sour mandarin fish with steamed rice. They also have a roast of the day (RMB 140), which might be a slow-roasted leg of lamb, or some local roast chicken. Check out the event listing for full details of the dishes.
Over at Country Kitchen, they have four different lunch sets featuring oven-baked dishes, noodles, dumplings or wokked dishes as the main event, along with a couple of sides. Again, full details are in the event listing. To get an idea of what the food is about, read about my recent visit.
Finally, it would be remiss of me not to mention Thanksgiving at least one more time. Get all the deets on eating out here or find out how to take on the kitchen responsibilities yourself here.
