Win Two Seats at Cafe Sambal for Chi Fan for Charity
Time is running out to get the last remaining seats for this year's Chi Fan for Charity (CFFC), which happens at more than 50 of Beijing's top restaurants Saturday, November 8, at 7pm.
One or more seats is still available for tables at Man Ho; Cafe Sambal; Andy's Craft Sausages; LM Plus; Brasserie Flo; Q Mex; Hani Gejiu; and CRU. Click here for a full list of table hosts and to book those last few places.
As Chi Fan For Charity's exclusive media partner, the Beijinger is pleased to give away two seats for the event at Cafe Sambal, with a total value of RMB 1,200, and includes admission to the CFFC after-party. To win, answer this question: what kind of cuisine does Cafe Sambal serve? Send your answer to win@thebeijinger.com by 5pm today (Nov 6) Beijing time. The winner will be chosen at random from those providing the correct answer.
To date, Chi Fan for Charity has raised about RMB 3.2 million for various charity recipients, mostly through its eat, drink, and be merry events. In 2014, the model will again be extended to two other cities with Chi Fan for Charity events in Shanghai on November 15 and Hong Kong on November 22.
Xian hosts the after-party, where participants will gather after their meals at the more than 50 restaurants across the city. All proceeds go directly to the event's two charity partners, Morning Tears and the United Foundation for China's Health (UFCH). Prices for the event range between RMB 600 and RMB 1,500 per person, depending on the restaurant, and include both the meal and admission to the after-party.
Founded in China in 1998, Morning Tears is an international non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization that stands up for children of convicts through raising awareness of the issues surrounding such children and capacity building.
UFCH is an organization of caring people committed to doing our very best to improve access to healthcare for these children. The organization states that "receiving the needed medical care not only saves that child’s life, but also gives her a real chance at a future," and they should know, having been in the field for nine years.
