To date, Chi Fan for Charity has raised about RMB 3.2 million for various charity recipients, mostly through its eat, drink, and be merry events. In 2014, the model will again be extended to two other cities with Chi Fan for Charity events in Shanghai on November 15 and Hong Kong on November 22.
Xian hosts the after-party, where participants will gather after their meals at the more than 50 restaurants across the city. All proceeds go directly to the event's two charity partners, Morning Tears and the United Foundation for China's Health (UFCH). Prices for the event range between RMB 600 and RMB 1,500 per person, depending on the restaurant, and include both the meal and admission to the after-party.
Founded in China in 1998, Morning Tears is an international non-profit, non-political, and non-religious organization that stands up for children of convicts through raising awareness of the issues surrounding such children and capacity building.
UFCH is an organization of caring people committed to doing our very best to improve access to healthcare for these children. The organization states that "receiving the needed medical care not only saves that child’s life, but also gives her a real chance at a future," and they should know, having been in the field for nine years.
