Godiva x Ritz-Carlton: A Two Part Chocolate Odyssey
With bikini weather firmly behind us, comfort foods are creeping back onto the menu, with chocolate firmly at the top of the list. Step up Godiva and Ritz-Carlton, who have come up with a truly indulgent pair of events inspired by the international flavors of Godiva's Saveurs du Monde chocolate collection. Both menus are available from October 8 to November 16.
Chocolate Afternoon Tea
Ever tried chocolate-glazed barbecue pork? Us neither, but you can if you decide to partake of Godiva x Ritz-Carlton's Chocolate Afternoon Tea. There is chocolate in every single part of the tea, from chocolate scones, to mango hot milk chocolate, to duck foie gras mousse macaroons with cocoa nibs.
The main event, however, is six pastries that draw on the six different chocolates in the Saveurs du Monde chocolate collection, including a chocolate flan with speculoos and winter fruit (inspired by Belgium) and a Sichuan pepper and smoked black tea macaroon (inspired, of course, by China).
The tea is available everyday from 1.30-5.30pm, at RMB 248 (plus 15 percent service charge) per person.
Chef's Table Dinner at Barolo
For a real, no-holds-barred chocolate indulgence, you'll want to go for the Godiva Chef's Table Dinner available at Barolo. Priced at RMB 1,388 (plus 15 percent service charge) per person, the nine course meal takes in influences from across the globe, including Thailand, Japan and Australia.
Just like the afternoon tea, there is chocolate in every dish, some more obviously than others, for example in a risotto of 24 month aged parmiggiano reggiano risotto with freshly-shaved milk chocolate.
We won't reveal every course now, but you can browse some highlights of the menu below.
