Beer Fests Line Up for Autumn: Slow Boat, Great Leap Present Festivals in October, November
Just when we thought we were getting spoiled for choice of craft beers in Beijing, we're about to be even more spoiled, with two autumn craft beer festivals on tap for October and November, respectively.
The previously-announced inaugural Autumn Craft Beer Festival, presented by Slow Boat Brewery, will change venues and take place at EAST Hotel Beijing/Indigo on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, featuring 12 different breweries and brewers, along with nine Beijing food purveyors, including Two Guys and a Pie, Andy's Craft Sausages, and the newly renovated and rechristened Cu Ju Moroccan Bistrot & Rumerie.
The Beijinger Reader Bar & Club Awards Bar of the Year for 2013 and 2014, Great Leap Brewing, which hosted its third Beijing Craft Beer Festival in June, presents the first Beijing Invitational Craft Beer Festival, also set for EAST Hotel Beijing, on November 15 and 16. The event will host 15 craft brewers from North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Japan, along with 10 more craft breweries from around China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Members of the public may attend for two, two and a half, or three hours, with tickets providing a 150ml tasting glass for RMB 250, 300, and 400, respectively, Great Leap said in a press release Wednesday.
The Invitational Craft Beer Festival will also have a separate section for Beijing craft breweries and restaurants, with beer and food available on a pay-as-you-go basis. All proceeds from this section will be donated to Chi Fan For Charity and other local charities, Great Leap said.
