Avocado Development is hosting a charity yoga class this Sunday from 4 to 6:30pm at Yoga Sumit to help raise money for the ongoing relief efforts in the Phillipines. All levels are welcome. The class will consist mainly of meditation practice, asanas (poses), partner yoga and arm balances led by instructors Vivian Dong and Victor Chau. No registration is required but a minimum donation of RMB 100 is suggested to participate.
According to the UN, 11 million people have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan which devasted the Phillipnes and parts of southeast Asia in early November. That's roughly one in seven if you take into account the country's populationn of 77 million. An estimated 5,500 people have died.
