Dragon Back in Hiding: Sequel to Crouching Tiger Confirmed

Kung-fu film fanatics, your dream has come true: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon II – The Green Destiny will begin production in March next year. The news was confirmed yesterday at The Cannes Film Festival by producer Harvey Weinsten, who praised the stars of the sequel, Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen, as an action “Dream Team,” according to The Wall Street Journal:

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon II — The Green Destiny,” will be directed by legendary martial-arts choreographer Yuen Wo-ping, who served as action choreographer on the first film. It’s slated to begin production in March 2014. The sequel is based on the novel “Iron Knight, Silver Vase,” by the late Chinese writer Wang Dulu, part of the “Crane-Iron Pentalogy” series that also included “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
