Meal Deals Around Town: DIY Meat, Free Lunch, and More

Attention Shuangjingers and anyone paranoid about the source of their meat: Plan B is starting a new deal where you bring your own meat for barbecuing. Get a group of four or more together and for RMB 50 each, Plan B provides the grill, a jug of sangria, sweet corn on the cob, a plate of fresh veggies, dip and potato salad.

Plan B uses a six-burner professional grill, which they claim can accommodate anything people throw at it. Check it out yourself starting at 1pm next Tuesday, May 7. The best part is that Plan B has you covered on the worst part – the washing up.

Temple Restaurant Beijing is offering one complimentary lunch gift certificate (valid for one person) for every couple who dines during their first seating for dinner (5.30-8pm) on Fridays and Saturdays. You'll have to finish by 8pm, but that seems a small price to pay for a free lunch.

If exclusivity has always had an appeal, but the price tag has not, The Westin Financial Street has an attractive deal for April and May. Private rooms in their Chinese restaurant, Jewel, are available for both lunch and dinner without a minimum (standardly RMB 2,000-10,000).

Zap Urban Eatery, with DS Wines, is hosting a wine and cheese night tomorrow evening (April 24) from 6-8pm. RMB 100 will snag you five glasses of wine and five types of cheese. RSVP to 6409 4748 due to the small space.

We posted about FoodCamp! a few weeks ago, but a quick reminder that it's coming up this Sunday. You can still register to participate (free) in the day focused on bringing "together a community who cares about food and health" and discussing "the larger concept of sustainability surrounding food."
