The storm didn’t affect the Beijing Guardians international game on July 28 but border control did. The Philippine Punishers were mostly forced to stay home but their American coach and the Guardians managed to corral some Americans into a team for our hometown boys to play. The more experienced visitors won, but it puts Beijing in good stead for next month’s visit of the Shanghai Nighthawks.

You’ve got until Monday to join Beijing Climbing club’s trip to Qingdao on the weekend of August 17. There’s 1.5 days of climbing during the two-night trip but we’re sure you can squeeze in some quality time at the beer festival too. Email Beijing Climbing Club to express interest.
There’s also the National Fixed Gear Bicycle Contest on August 25. Registration is open until the 24th of the month by calling Ms. Lu at 158 0149 7475. It’s RMB 60 to participate but free to watch. The event takes place up at Anzhenli Vocational School.
Finally, the larger team sports are all looking to get back on track throughout this month. Look out for information soon on how to join ClubFootball’s 5-a-side, the IFFC, rugby, Aussie rules and Gaelic football.
