Weekend Live Music Roundup: A Weekend To Suit All Tastes
Good evening. It's time for our weekly look ahead at the upcoming weekend's best music. Starting with tonight when, unusually, there's a host of shows around the city well worth checking out.
There truly is an eclectic flavour to your Thursday night lineup. Every genre is catered for, be it Japanese electronica at 2 Kolegas as record label Flau shows off some of its finest talent, or some funk on offer over at Temple with the Matthew Parker Project. And if neither of those tickle your fancy there's blues and rock with New Band and Wang Wei at V.A. Bar, or pop punk provided by Aussie tourists The Stanleys.
Friday is decidedly more high-octane with Junglemico Project celebrating its first birthday in 2 Kolegas. But if dubstep isn't your thing, the Fairmont Hotel continues its Sounds of Fairmont series as it hosts pop diva Della Ding. There's also a Bob Marley tribute night over at Yugong Yishan featuring Longshendao and Mitabe; a different speed still.
Saturday sees hard rockers Cactus playing what could be their swansong before some members head off at Hot Cat Club. Canadian songstress Ember Swift plays at Jianghu Jiuba in a show that was brought forward one week. And of course, old favourites the Beijing Beatles will play Temple.
Finally, on Sunday, Swiss electro outfit Syndrome WPW continue their tour of Asia with a show at Hot Cat Club.
And that concludes a mixed bag of a weekend for your listening pleasure.
