Hit The Road: A Guide To Beijing Running

For many, spring is the perfect season to get back into shape and what better way than the Great Wall Marathon? You've got until May 19th to get yourself ready but if you don’t fancy the solitude of the treadmill, you could join one of the city’s running clubs.

The Nike Run Club organizes a couple of routes every Tuesday at 7pm. They start and end at the Sanlitun Village store.

The Beijing Hash House Harriers have multiple runs followed by multiple beers, including one every Sunday. You can check all of the upcoming runs here.

HeyRunning, is a running club-cum-clinic from the Heyrobics folks. They have at least one run a week and you can get details of the schedule here.

If you've not registered already, it's too late to join the Beijing International Long Distance Running Festival this Sunday but you can console yourself with a pair of free shoes.

This weekend, Adidas celebrates the launch of the new “ClimaCool” running shoes, with a challenge at the Sanlitun Village store. They've frozen a pair of the shoes in a block of ice and your mission is to free them using creativity – or more likely using the little hammer provided. If you can get at them, then you can keep them.

Just in case a free pair of shoes isn’t enough, we’re giving away an Adidas running T-shirt (please note that it’s an Asian size M). To win it, just answer the following question: Who’s the only girl in the "We All Run Adidas" spot? Send the answer to win@thebeijinger.com before noon, April 16. The winner will be notified shortly after.
Good luck.
