In the Beijinger Galleries: Awards, Nightlife and Openings

If you need any confirmation that Beijing has awoken from its winter slumber, look no further than our latest online photo galleries. They include everything from our recent Reader Restaurant Awards ceremony to several German DJs who have been blasting their way into the city's club scene.

Results for the Beijinger 2012 Reader Restaurant Awards were announced at our ceremony at the Hilton Beijing on March 19. We’ve got lots of pics, results on the blog (here and here) and even more in our April issue, which is available online now.

the Beijinger also took part in The Bookworm International Literary Festival (BLF) recently. Our Pop Up Magazine event took the words off the page and into a live-action version of the magazine with the help of audience members and other festival participants.

German DJs Paul Kalkbrenner and The Magician dropped by for separate shows at Tango and Haze, respectively. Look for Paul’s brother Fritz to make an appearance at Haze on April 14.

Elsewhere around town, Aria served up dessert-cocktails that will be available to diners during the month of May, Malaysian restaurant Little Nyonya opened their Shunyi branch and the UCCA opened the exhibit "Gu Dexin: The Important Thing is Not the Meat."
