Slow Boat Beer On Taps "In Less Than A Month"

With a few months of warm-up tastings having raised anticipation and interest in their craft beers, the Slow Boat Brewery team have just announced they'll begin distribution to Home Plate BBQ and Union Bar and Grille in "less than a month."

Here's the announcement we received from Slow Boat's Chandler Jurinka:

Slow Boat Brewery is fully licensed to make beer for sale at area restaurants, bars, and hotels. Dan and I have built our brewery and distribution network with scalability and reliability in mind to ensure no supply interruptions.

To start out with we will concentrate on keg sales as kegs provide the most reliable method of delivering fresh beer to our customers. Distribution will begin in less than one month. Initially our brews will be available at Home Plate BBQ and Union Bar & Grille in Sanlitun with several additional locations to be announced in the near future. We are also excited to continue tastings of our newest beers at Beijing’s finer restaurants and bars.

Slow Boat's announcement comes just days after Beijing craft brewing pioneers Great Leap announced they'll be closing their Doujiao Hutong bar for winter to focus on securing the necessary licenses to allow them to resume brewing for distribution to other bars. Great Leap will be embarking on a series of "pop-up bar" events at bars around town, as well as offering keg sales for parties and drinking at home.

Slow Boat host the latest in their "first Thursday of the month" tastings at Home Plate on Thursday at 7pm, with their Aged Brown Ale, Pacific Northwest Red Ale and American Pale Ale all on tap. Entry is free, but you pay for what you drink. More details here.
