What year was it? September 2000.

Where's the original location? It was at The Hidden Tree, South Sanlitun.

Who is in the photo? Andy.

What were you doing there? I was at a wedding reception for my colleague Chris and FanFan.

What were you doing in Beijing? I had just arrived in Beijing, and found a job selling Trans-Siberian Railway tours.

NOW

Who is in the photo? Andy.

What are you now doing in Beijing? I'm now the manager of Monkey Shrine.

What has changed for you? The location of The Tree, Sanlitun.

What has changed in the city? More foreigners. More cars. More bars. More high-rise. More opportunities.

Anything else you'd like to add? Chris now runs The China Travel Company.
