2011 Reader Bar & Club Awards: Fun Times
Drinking is great, but sometimes a little extra incentive will get us out to certain bars more than others. Whether it's for mind-boggling questions, a late night sport showdown, or just for a fun-loving crowd, we have all that covered with the following results for Beijing’s best quiz night, sports bar, and friendly crowd as voted by you in our Reader Bar & Club Awards.
Quiz Night
 Best
Lush. Questions every Wednesday in student-infested Wudaokou
 Outstanding
The Bookworm. Spend Monday nights with one of Beijing’s most serious quiz crowds
Paddy O’Shea’s. Wednesdays are livened up by Beijing’s most drunk quiz goers, especially after rounds of winning booze and beer-drinking tie-breakers
 Editors Pick
The Beijinger 2010 Charity Super Quiz. Seven quizmasters. One stage. No contest. Even if we did organize it ourselves
Sports Bar
 Best
Paddy O’Shea’s. The ability to show six sports at once and give you anything your heart desires is why Paddy’s has been in this spot for three years on the trot.
 Outstanding
The Stumble Inn. The go-to sports spot in downtown Sanlitun, with almost as much screening power as Paddy’s - will The Stumble be the one to break the streak next year?
The Den. The ever-reliable granddaddy of Beijing sports bars shows sports around the clock.
 Editor’s Pick
Paddy O’Shea’s. Because we spend more time there than we do in our own homes.
Friendliest Bar Crowd
 Best
Paddy O’Shea’s. Maybe the Irish are a cheery, optimistic crowd. Or maybe they’re just good drunks.
 Outstanding
First Floor. Because you'll almost certainly run into one or more of your friends there.
The Stumble Inn. Two floors of games where you're sure to meet someone willing to play.
 Editors Pick
Paddy O’Shea’s. See comments under "Best." The answer is the latter.
