Win Tickets! Piano aux Jacobins Concerts

Festival Croisements has become one of the staples of a Beijing spring, marking the winter thaw with constant sprouts of cultural activities - film festivals, art exhibits, stage performances. Part of that excitement is Piano aux Jacobins, our city's premiere annual piano event. This year we have two pairs of tickets to give away to some lucky readers.

First pair of tickets:

Friday, June 3
Sergio Tiempo
The Venezuelan-Argentine pianist who spent his formative years bouncing around on great piano benches all around the world will be performing a Liszt Sonetto, a Beethoven Sonata, Ginastera's Argentine dances and a finger-tangling Chopin Etude. 7.30pm. Forbidden City Concert Hall (6559 8285)

Second pair of tickets:

Saturday, June 4
Geoffroy Couteau
The French pianist's nuanced style has been compared to angel's wings, and he'll be using those angel wings to bring some Alkan (Trente Chants Troisième), Liszt (a waltz) and Chopin (a prelude) to the Beijing stage. 7.30pm. Forbidden City Concert Hall (6559 8285)

To win, just email win@thebeijinger.com and tell us what other cities in the world also host Piano aux Jacobins festivals. You can mention which pair of tickets you'd prefer, but we make no guarantees. Contest ends tomorrow (Wednesday, May 25) at noon.

If you're not one of the lucky two winners, get your own tickets to the first night here, the second night here and the third night (French jazz pianist Lorraine Desmarais) here.

One last parting note: all program plans are subject to change, but not to worry, either way you'll get some mighty fine piano playin'.
