Undeniably Bootylicious
Hordes crowded into Wukesong Indoor Stadium last Friday night (Oct 23) to catch the Beijing leg of Beyoncé’s “I Am …” world tour.
Featuring nine costume changes, all involving similarly leggy and derrière-focused outfits, Beyoncé and her curvy dancers kicked off the show with “Crazy in Love,” before intertwining tunes from her recent album I Am … Sasha Fierce with classic crowd-pleasing songs from her early career with Destiny’s Child, like “Say My Name” and “Survivor.”
The crowd was high in energy, despite Wukesong staff continually telling fans to remain in their seats. Everyone jumped up to chant and point “to the left, to the left” when Beyoncé sang “Irreplaceable.” She ended the show with her massive hit “Single Ladies” which really got the audience going.
The only disappointments were the absence of her ballad “Halo” and the lack of an encore. But Beyoncé put on a hell of a show. We hope she’s back in Beijing again soon to belt more tunes and shake that booty.
