If you like getting rubbed the wrong way, perhaps The Saddle is your ride.
I've been a frequent patron of this TexMexican establishment for some time and always appreciated the warm respite, excellent salsas, and jovial ambience. Being an avid fan of crustaceans and discounts, I opted for Shrimp Fajitas on their half-price night. Unfortunately, "half price" to the chef meant "half portions," and he/she sent out a generous 4 prawns. Each fajita was a wondrous game entitled Find the Solo Shrimp Within. I think I lost.
Also. Do not be bamboozled by their "Half Price Margaritas" claim. Being strict semanticists, our friends at the Saddle only apply this discount to one of their margarita drinks--the smallest size, otherwise known as "The Maria".
We ordered the Orange Creamsicle margarita in the larger, plastic, bong-shaped drinker and it arrived, sans whipped cream, sans chocolate. Here's the official recipe from their site:
"Orange Creamsicle Margarita
Margarita mix
Orange juice
Gold Tequila
Whipped Cream
Served in a frozen Marg glass with a dollop of whipped cream
and chocolate syrup dribbled over it.
A Yummy and decadent treat."
Yummy, yes. Decadent...only to those never before having sampled the more basic of orange popsicles.
When we complained about the rift between receipt and advertised discount, the manager proceeded to point to the "Maria" drink on the menu, explaining to us that the discount only applied to "Margaritas". Hm. Could have sworn a margarita referred to the drink style, not the cup size.
I'm saying "neigh" to this naughty saloon until they saddle up about prices and portions. Giddyup.

Re: This Saddle Chafes
Sorry to hear about your poor experience at Saddle Cantina.
I hope next time you come to the restaurant you will have a better one, thank you for you feedback, from now on we will adjust the menu and take your review in consideration, mentioning that the biggest drink on the menu can not be half price. Hopefully see you on Monday!
If you have any other bad experiences please find me (Gordon Kutil).
Cheers!

Cheap resturant skimming loyal customers. I enjoyed the part where you are searching for your shrimp "very funny". Half/Price means Half/Portions "Classic". I know for sure 100% I will not go to this resturant or advise anyone to go there. Thank you for writing this review.

Re: This Saddle Chafes
I was also a Saddle Fan until recently. Met up with my daughter and her friends a few weeks ago for lunch. We were in the newer first floor section. Firstly, it smelled vile - not the usual toilets-nearby-smell, but bad. We were the only people seated, there were 5 people working behind the counter and the service was atrocious. We waited well over 5 minutes and were ignored by every employee including the woman who seemed to be the manager, who was sitting at the bar playing on her computer. No one approached us or made eye contact or responded to subtle requests for a fuwuyuan to come over. I felt like the classic obnoxious foreigner when I had to call loudly for someone to take a drink order. At the same time we ordered from the taco menu - one wanted no tomato or lettuce, another no onion. This was explained 3 times in English and Chinese. Then we were asked again what it was we wanted. And again. And fifteen minutes later AGAIN! At that point I told them we were leaving and I would only pay for half the drink order, as we didnt have time to stick around and wait for our food. The manager finally engages in the situation and agrees to my paying half, seemingly oblivious to what the problem was. She sent the server upstairs to get change of my 100rmb. It takes forever, server reappears and tries to keep a portion of my change despite what she was told by her supervisor. I normally wouldnt squabble over 10rmb - but my patience was worn thin - I snatched my 10rmb and we left - making a beeline for the awesome Bite-a-Pitta. Yea - done with The Saddle - Luga gets our Tex-Mex business from now on.

@ ferris
Dude, why is it whenever there is a negative review of any place you jump right in and leave your 2 cents? What's a matter big boy? Was the girl at Yashow mean to you? Who cares? It's China, grow up dip shit, In business people make mistakes, I would love to work where you do and nothing ever goes wrong, let me know which English teaching school that is. Remember we are a guest in this country and by you going around slamming the Chinese you make all of us look bad. Your just the idiot during the fight that stands on the outside yelling and jumping around but not really joining in. Please just keep you mouth shut and stop acting the fool, douche monkey

Re: This Saddle Chafes
That's odd. I was there last week, at the bottom floor of the restaurant, they didn't have a lot of staff just a bartender, a cook and a manager. My girlfriend and I asked for bunch of different tacos and I pointed out to the manager that my girlfriend was allergic to cilantro, the manager took the order, went to the kitchen and checked every taco that was coming out for her not to have any cilantro on it. Hot drinks were good, but tasted the same to me. Strawberry martini was really good.
Definitely will be coming to that place again.

No, what's odd, porkchop, is that you created an account today and your first and only piece of business was to respond to a negative review with an overwhelmingly positive picture of the restaurant.
You're just making the place look worst b/c it's assumed you're attached to it (which you probably are). I'd check out a place even with a poor review but with this bull I'll stay away.
