New At the UCCA: "Hanging Gardens in Ink" and "Standing on the Shoulders of Little Clowns"
Saturday, April 14. This week UCCA opens two wildly different exhibits. One, titled “Hanging Garden In Ink,” by Jennifer Wen Ma, consists of a gargantuan tangle of leaves and branches, each painted with calligraphy ink. The other, dubbed “Standing on the Shoulders of Little Clowns,” by Chinese art super group Guest, features a heavenly magician mannequin, contortionist fountain, and a whole carnival’s worth of other works.
