Working Visas

Please does anyone know when China will start issuing working visas(Z Visas)to foreigners again?

That is when will the traffic start to flow again for expats with contracts coming to work in Beijing.....

Will it start soon after the end of the Olympics or will we have to wait until after the Paraolympics?

Thanks

Re: Working Visas

Z visas are still being issued if you fulfill the requirements.

You mean F visas?

Re: Working Visas

I want to know because I have an appartment to rent out in a nice place suitable for foreigners who are working in Beijing CBD but all the real estate agents tell me that because of the olimpic games there are very few Z visas being issued......ultimately there are no clients........They say the situation will get better after the olimpics............but i would like to know what is going on and when will there be more foreigners coming in to rent appartments......

I assume these things are linked,

Thank you for your reply

Re: Working Visas

Expect things to last until after the Paralympics. Major multinations have been advised by the Beijing PSB that no invitation letters will be issued until after the Paralympics. How uniformly they enforce that is another question.

Re: Working Visas

6-month F visa with 1, 2 or multiple entries are available now for citizens from developed countries if your present visa is an F.
From an L to an F, it can be a 3-month one.

It is quite expensive, though.

Re: Working Visas

Leeo, thanks a lot for posting this - so I assume there has been some kind of change on Sep 1st? Great to know!

6 months multiple from Europe - could you give us a rough price estimate?

Re: Working Visas

Hi - I currently have an Olympic accreditation. I'm planning on traveling down south of China over the next month before heading off to India. Can anyone tell me if I can change over to an L visa? I've been told three different expiration dates on my accreditation - 23rd Sept, 28th Sept and Oct 16th. It is an Olympic accreditation not a Paralympic accreditation and was issued by BOCOG. Thanks.
