Part time English Jobs in Haidian?

I will be moving to Beijing in 1 month with my husband and 13month old daughter. My huysband will be working full time as a researcher, and I would like to work part time teaching English.
Does anyone know a good place to start? Are there any reputable tutoring organizations that offer flexible hours and decent pay?

there are a plethora of jobs available but you need to be careful with private schools and tutoring agencies. Most of them are pure profit-making ventures and will take advantage of both tutor and student to make a buck. that being said there may be some semi-reliable ones- maybe people here (on forum) can give you names. if you are not in urgent need of finding a job immediately, I would recommend taking your time to find reliable, individual students through classified ads and word-of-mouth. it's worth it in the long run.

oh. that's another thing- these schools always want to see what you look like. If you have an Asian or Black face rather than a white one, they won't like you as much, might pay you less, or mght not have a job for you.
ps- I worked for Goldentran, the school who is trying to advertise above. you have to pay them a finder's fee.

PS- I should say that it was not really a "finder's fee" but rather that you have to pay them a portion of the money you get for tutoring each student. At least, that was the policy one or two years ago.
these places are BUSINESSES before they are SCHOOLS.
