Hailing from California under the influence of funkmasters like Roger "Zapp" Troutman, George Clinton, Roy Ayers, Herbie Hancock, and hip hop producers like Dr. Dre, Battlecat and J Dilla, B. Bravo has crafted his own sound in electronic music connecting interstellar funk, hip hop and R&B with dance and bass music. From San Francisco, he’s recognized worldwide as a driving force in the emerging Modern Funk Movement. Bravo’s massive tune ‘Computa Love’ gained international acclaim as one of London tastemaker Benji B’s ‘best of’ selections for his BBC 1xtra radio program, and as the lead track and 12-inch from Gilles Peterson’s 2010 Brownswood Electr*c compilation. Red Bull Music Academy picked Bravo as a participant to attend their coveted program in London for 2010 and continue to support him as celebrated alumni.

As a DJ and captivating live performer (with Synths, Vocoder and Talkbox), Bravo has shared the stage with Erykah Badu, Chromeo, Dam-Funk, Flying Lotus and has serenaded crowds across the world with his outer-space boogie and dirty grinding synth grooves at festivals like SXSW, Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Snowglobe, Decibel Festival, Positivus Festival, HARD Los Angeles, Glade Festival UK, and Sonar in Barcelona.

Caliph8 [Manila, Philippines] is a composer, DJ, and performs live music, most famously on a rusty old MPC drum machine/sampler. He bridges street sensibilities with modern art and explores the implication of merging, summing and hybridization, creating a new cultural syntax out of the debris of the already-given. His main tool is the MPC where he deploys an arsenal of beats, samples and deconstructed audio cut & paste sound collage. For the past 20 years, he has been active in Manila, primarily involved with the local outsider culture, working in a variety of artistic mediums - music, street art, film compositions, live bands, and rapping.

As a sound creator and vinyl archivist, his background spans from true school hip-hop, experimental, folk, no wave, sound art, soul, rare grooves, exotica, kraut rock, jazz, psychedelia among others. He combines all of these elements and creates a hybrid permutation of a gut-wrenching-disorientating aural blast, leaving the audience dumb founded or mind expanded similar to a psychedelic excursion.
