For the historically challenged, Cinco de Mayo is a minor Mexican holiday celebrating victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla.
Most Mexicans don't even celebrate it, but, since 1865, it's been a very big deal in El Norte among Mexican-Americans, cholos and cholas, gringos and yankees, and basically everyone who loves Mexican food and margaritas.
Beach parties are popular and so is just getting smashed on beers and Margaritas.
We're doing our own take on the holiday this year with a pink theme - pink outfits and accessories encouraged, but since it also so happens to be the 200th birthday of OG pinko Karl Marx - Celebrate with Palms & Jing A at PINKO DE MAYO!
