John Holden, who first visited China in 1974, believes that the most important character trait for anybody trying to understand China is humility. If his extraordinary contributions to the US-China commercial, political and educational relationship during his nearly 40 years of experience in Asia are any indication, he is uniquely positioned to energize the next generation of leaders when he steps into his new role as CEO of the US-China Strong Foundation next month.
Holden is moving from Beijing to Washington, D.C. after serving over three years as Associate Dean of the Yenching Academy of Peking University. Young China Watchers and Democrats Abroad are pleased to host Holden to speak about his past experiences as a participant in the US-China relationship and his thoughts on the future of China.
