This exhibition at the Tsinghua University Art Gallery focuses on paintings from 1800 – 1900, with 51 different works from the Saint Etienne Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition focuses on six themes: new perceptions of scenery, figures and portraits, from cubism to Puritanism, surrealism, dreams and unconsciousness, return to matter, and between the figurative and the abstract, making it a great primer on Western art history.
