Japanese architect Arata Isozaki designed this newly reopened museum to reflect the surrounding
topography. An exterior of natural rock plates gives the building a distinctly reptilian look, but the vast interior is white and edgeless.
Rotating exhibitions feature works drawn from the permanent collection of contemporary Chinese masters and the Academy’s graduates, while occasional international shows also pass through. Check the website or call, as exhibits change frequently. The surrounding campus, dotted with more student art, is a pleasant place for a lazy afternoon stroll.
