It’s Easter weekend, and although hot cross buns are normally enjoyed on Good Friday (yesterday), in our opinion it’s never too late to enjoy one of these delicious buns! From traditional hot cross buns to luxurious chocolate varieties, there are plenty of options to satisfy those cravings.

The Bake Shop

Baochao Hutong’s The Bake Shop is now selling hot cross buns, which are available to buy until Mar 31. They have classic hot cross buns available in batches of six, which can be bought in store or through their WeChat store (scan the QR code below to order).

If you’re just after buying one hot cross bun to enjoy yourself rather than a whole batch, then The Mandarin Cake Shop is a great option. They sell individual traditional hot cross buns for RMB 28, and they also have a few other special Easter treats available to order until Mar 31. Regent Deli

Regent Beijing has two different kinds of hot cross bun flavors up for grabs: cinnamon or chocolate. They’re available to buy in batches of either 12 or 24. You can purchase them by scanning the QR code in the poster above ,and they’re available all the way until Apr 30, so if you’ve still got cravings next month they’ve got you covered!

Le Petit Pain

Le Petit Pain’s Shuangjing branch has two varieties of hot cross buns available to order: fruit and double chocolate. They’re available in packs of four (you get two of each flavor) and can be purchased either in store or on Meituan Waimai. They’ve only got a limited number each day, so it’s best to get there early or order in the morning if you want to make sure you can nab one!

InterContinental 

Putting a bit of a fancier twist on your normal hot cross bun, the InterContinental’s offering sees orange confit and raisin hot cross buns with lashings of cream and blueberry cinnamon flavors. They’re available to order in batches of 12 or 24 until Apr 25, and you can scan the QR code in the poster above to buy them.

Mary’s Sweets

On offer at online bakery Mary Sweets are Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns that come with a separate orange glaze on the side for you to slather on at home as well as Extremely Chocolatey Hot Cross Buns. Both are available to order in batches of six by scanning the QR code above, and if you’re feeling extra indulgent you can even add on cream cheese frosting.

Jerry’s British Shop

There are four different varieties of hot cross bun being offered up by online store Jerry’s British Shop: Traditional, Vegan Traditional, Traditional Savory Sampler Pack and British Chocolate Sampler Pack, the latter two of which may be of particular interest to Brits.  The Traditional Savory option has two types of savory hot cross bun, one of which sees the usual sweet ingredients and spices swapped out for truffle Cheddar and the UK’s most controversial condiment: Marmite.
