A Look at the Belt and Road Food Fest Market Vendors

Along with over 200 dishes and drinks to try and entertainment all day long, there will also be a few market vendors at the Belt & Road Food Fest this weekend (Sep 16-17) selling their wares. From cute plushies to rice wine to ornate Kashmir scarves there are tons of goodies to buy whether you’re looking for a gift for a friend or loved one or want to treat yo’self!

National Geographic

Bringing some cuteness to the festival, National Geographic will be selling animal plush toys. Buying one of these toy animals helps the real-life animal population, furthering the work of National Geographic’s scientists, educators and explorers around the world.


TUI ALPACA 吐吐驼

Coming all the way from Peru, TUI ALPACA will be selling handmade alpaca wool plush toys. They are imported directly from Peru – the hometown of the alpaca – and are 100 percent handmade and made from baby alpaca, wool which is smooth and soft to the touch. Since ancient times alpacas have been important in Inca culture and are seen as “sacred beasts” that can bring hope and good luck to people. 


Sozni

Sozni will be bringing a selection of scarves and carpets from Pakistan’s Kashmir region to the festival. All of Sozni’s products are handmade by local families in Kashmir and feature woven, intricate patterns and shapes.


Baltic Amber Cultural and Creative Gallery

At the festival, the Baltic Amber Cultural and Creative Gallery will be selling Baltic natural amber ornaments and natural amber jewelry. All of the products are designed and produced in Baltic countries, such as Poland, Latvia, and Estonia. They have everything from exquisite ornaments, accessories, and jewelry to more practical items like pens and amber essential oil soap. 


Roots Café & Culture

Roots Café & Culture (RC&C) have dubbed their booth Culture Café. Along with an array of fun activities from their Lifestyle Hub they’ll also be selling African drums, biltong – a spicy South African-style beef jerky – and two South African ciders:  Hunter’s Dry and Savanna.


GOOD WATER FARM 良水农造

GOOD WATER FARM will be bringing some of their signature rice wines to the festival. Dedicated to sustainable agriculture, GOOD WATER FARM is based on the banks of the Fengxi River in Fengwu Village, Yixian County, Anhui. Natural spring water from the nearby mountains is used to make all of their rice wines, giving it distinct Jiangnan characteristics.


To u caihui 兔呦彩绘

To u caihui will be doing face painting at the festival, and with a wide range of patterns and designs to choose from, so there will be something for you no matter your style! They will also be selling a variety of badges that make a perfect small gift for a friend or yourself!


#WAWABEER 哇哇兔酒站

In addition to market vendors, we’ve had one extra food and drink vendor join us for the fest: #WAWABEER. They’ll be serving up some of their signature beers like “It’s a German Wheat!”, “China Tea-Flavored Beer!”, and “Is It PUA or IPA?”. As well as beer, they’ll have “UFO buns” filled with three different flavors: Taro Puree Mochi, Chicken and Egg and Spiced Beef.

The Belt & Road Food Fest is happening at Langyuan Station, Sep 16-17, 11am-8.30pm. Early bird tickets are RMB 19.9 for one person or RMB 29.9 for two people. You can purchase tickets by scanning the QR code in the poster above.
