Cars for Rent and Drivers for Hire During CNY 2023

As Chinese New Year arrives, our options for taxis dwindle and the wait times drastically increase, not to mention that Didi started imposing a CNY surge charge fee (see below for details) earlier this week.

RMB 3 / ride from Jan 16-20
RMB 6 / ride from Jan 21-23
RMB 5 / ride from Jan 24-27

So, if you’re sticking around Beijing and have plans that require some travel, it may be good to have other options, such as these cars for rent + drivers for hire who are working hard through the CNY holiday!

Donna provides a car rental service and helps to coordinate local drivers with customers as well. The drivers generally don’t speak English but she does and she will be ready to assist on WeChat anytime. Car brands include Buick, Volkswagen, Audi and more economic options as well. Prices start from RMB 350 for a day (8 hours) without a driver and RMB 650 with a driver. Additional hours are charged at RMB 50. They also offer pickup and drop-off airport shuttle services.

Mark Ma is a friendly English-speaking driver with a 4-seater Toyota Camry and he charges RMB 700/9 hours.
