TGIF: Festival Al Fresco, Holi Party, Mental Health Movie Night

The weekend is here! Time for fun, relaxation, and recharging the ol' batteries ahead of *gulp* Monday morning's alarm clock. Luckily enough, there’s plenty of fun stuff to keep you occupied over the weekend that doesn't necessarily involve getting blitzed. Our weekend roundup offers you some of the best.


Mar 27: Festival Al Fresco

One of Beijing's favorite pop-up bazaars, Rumble in the Jumble, returns to Aotu Space for the Festival Al Fresco! The bazaar features over 45 awesome makers, crafters, and unique service providers, selling everything from arts and artisanal items to handcrafted foods and skincare products. RMB 10. Noon-6pm. Mar 27: Punjabi Holi party

Celebrate the colorful festival of Holi at Punjabi Restaurant with a whole evening of fun including a dinner buffet accompanied by soft drinks and beer, performances, a DJ, and a lucky draw. RMB 198. 7pm. Punjabi Indian Restaurant

Mar 27: Hike to Phoenix Mountain

Fenghuangling Nature Park, also known as Phoenix Mountain, is located in Haidian District and is a popular place to visit at this time of year due to its abundance of spring flowers. Join this 8-10km hike, which will take in some of the best sites along the scenic "south line" through the park. RMB 150. 7.30am-6.30pm. Fenghuangling Nature Park

Mar 27: CandleX mental health movie night

Join CandleX for their second mental health movie night with a screening of the award-winning Cantonese movie Mad World. Veering away from stereotypical depictions of mental health conditions — bipolar disorder, in particular — Mad World portrays the traumatic comeback of Tung, a former stockbroker, after a spell in a psychiatric hospital. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Mimi (Liu Yuanqing), founder of WeChat account Bipolar World. RMB 100. 7.30pm. Yuanliao Space​​​​​​

Mar 28: Vite development workshop with Vue Beijing

Join Vue Beijing's community of Javascript developers for a workshop on front-end build tool Vite, lead by Vue Beijing core team member, Anthony Fu. RMB 10. 3-5pm. HPP Innoway. 

Mar 28: Roundabout book fair

This weekend, Roundabout invites you to pick up some new reads from a selection of thousands of donated books, with all proceeds going to the various children's organizations supported by Roundabout.
