May 12: Reduce to Relive
This event, organized by zero-waste store The Bulk House, is based around the concepts of reducing waste, and promoting a sharing economy where participants work together to ensure that unused items are put back into circulation (the original 'reduces' their possessions) and get to Relive again somewhere else. Participants of this free swap (yep, that's right, all items are totally free) are welcome to bring unused items such as clothes, shoes, books, kids toys, kitchenware, accessories, CDs, and plants as long as they’re usable and clean. You can also come and take items you think you will use with you even if you don’t have any to give. It's all about reducing unnecessary waste! Any items left over will be donated to the charity secondhand shop Roundabout. Free. Noon-5pm. The Great Outdoors
May 18: Beijing Flea Market
The ultra-popular Beijing Flea Market Spring Edition returns, this time with around 45 vendors spanning some of the best local, independent, and design-related and crafts and grub from both established and emerging makers. Daystar Academy's Beigao campus is set to transform into a massive kid's carnival with all sorts of prizes, games, and activities going on.
