Great Leap to Open New 30-Tap Venue in Lido, Dec 21

Christmas has come early for Beijing beer fans: Great Leap Brewing (GLB) has announced the soft opening of its new Lido location, which will begin Friday, Dec 21 at 6pm.

The announcement came this afternoon via the brewery's WeChat page. It details how the popular craft beer makers' new branch will be situated on the first floor of the Nuo Centre, neighboring Lido's Nuo Hotel. Among the noteworthy features: a 40 seat wraparound bar, along with enough tables and seats for another 100 patrons.

More importantly for thirsty GLB fans, however, will be the thirty beer taps. Two-thirds of those taps will rotate among Great Leap's core and seasonal favorite brews, while guest beers from around the globe will flow from nine of the others. The last tap will be home to GLB's house-made ginger soda.

Here's a peek at the new digs:

In terms of grub, patrons can expect a "full kitchen serving all of Great Leap Brewing’s famous dishes, such as our burgers and pizzas, as well as some new items such as our monstrous Reuben sandwich."

The news is sure to leave GLB's legions of craft beer fans swooning. It's an especially welcome development given the sudden closure of their popular #12 Xingfucun location back in May.

It's now set to be a busy season for suds in the capital, with the announcement of Slow Boat's forthcoming branch in Dengshikou coming only days before competitor Great Leap made headlines today with their new Lido Branch.
