Take a Bite: TRB Bites Now Officially Open Seven Days per Week
Your taste buds had better brace themselves, because one of the year's most highly anticipated dining options is finally ready for mass consumption. TRB Bites will commence with full opening hours on Monday, September 28. From then on, the new casual-yet-eloquent restaurant - a more laid back spinoff of the award winning, fine dining TRB - will be open seven days a week from 11:30am to 10:30pm.
Throughout these new opening hours, patrons will be able to choose between the three, four or five course meals, priced at RMB 188, RMB 248 and RMB 288 respectively. The venue will also serve up a weekend brunch, and an express lunch menu of any two courses from a selection of appetiser, main course and desert items. The restaurant's lunch options are available from 11:30am to 2pm daily for the very reasonable price of RMB 98 per person.
During a recent visit, Beijinger writer Jessie Bryson lauded the delectable bites from which this new venue takes its name, listing the "thin chips of crisp chicken skin with candied bacon, tiny flash fried spiced shrimp, dime-sized goat cheese biscuits, the cutest little smoked quail eggs, (and) pillowy macarons" among her favorites.
Back in June TRB set Beijing's dining scene abuzz by announcing the opening of its new casual sister venue on the site of the now closed Brian McKenna@The Courtyard, an unparalleled location because of its prime view of the Forbidden City’s east gate. At the time, proprietor Ignace Lecleir released a statement in which he admitted: “The task of creating a restaurant that will do justice to this legendary venue is not one taken lightly," before adding that "TRB has decided to join forces with The Courtyard Restaurant and create a dining establishment to represent and satisfy the increasingly discerning tastes of the Beijing market.”
