Burger Cup Winners Slow Boat Prep for 2nd Annual Beijing Autumn Craft Beer Festival, Sep 25-26

The 2nd Annual Beijing Craft Beer Festival is quickly approaching, with 2015 Burger Cup winners Slow Boat prepping the venue for the upcoming weekend. Set for Friday (Sep 25) and Saturday (Sep 26), from 5-10pm and 12-10pm, respectively, for which the entire outside area at EAST Beijing will be transformed into festival grounds filled with craft beer from all over China, and food to match.

The confirmed beer vendors include: 18 Brewery (Wuhan), Amoy Brau (Xiamen), Arrow Factory Brewing (Beijing), Bad Monkey (Dali), Beijing Homebrewing Society (Beijing), Bionic Brew (Shenzhen), Boxing Cat Brewery (Shanghai), Calvin Beer Company (Hefei), Chengdu Harvest Brewing Co (Chengdu), Great Leap Brewing (Beijing), Jing A Brewing (Beijing), Master Gao Brewing (Nanjing), NB Craft Brewing Company (Beijing), and Slow Boat Brewery (Beijing).

As for food, it seems like some of Beijing's most popular bites will be around: Andy's Craft Sausages, Biteapitta, Hagaki, Home Plate BBQ, and Xian are all confirmed.

At their kick-off event, we got a taste of the dishes that Xian will be serving, all made specifically for the beer festival by EAST Chef Rob Cunningham to ensure beer compatibility. Look out for the pork tonkatsu burger; a delicious pork cutlet burger inspired by Japanese tonkatsu, with fresh shredded lettuce, mayonnaise, and the traditional sweet and savory sauce.

However, you'll have to be the judge of whether or not these beauties are better than Slow Boat's crowned Fryburger, an all-beef patty with a Jenga of beer-battered fries stacked on top, blanketed with cheese, and spattered with Slow Boat's special "Ayi-ioli" sauce.

Whether you're coming for the burgers or the beer, there's no way you won't be able to find something to quash those cravings. We'll see you there!
