New Life Center: Barbecue for a Good Cause at EAST Beijing

Who doesn't love a good Aussie barbecue and a couple of brewskis? This Saturday (Aug 29), between 5-7pm, EAST Beijing will host a free-flow Aussie Barbecue and craft beer event in collaboration with Great Leap Brewing and Plastered 8, at Xian Bar, EAST Beijing. All money raised at the event will go to the New Life Center (NLC).

NLC, founded in 2001, is a is a Shunyi-based foster home and learning center for orphaned and underprivileged children from broken homes or migrant families. The goal for Saturday's barbecue is to raise more than RMB 42,000 and pay the center's housing and heating bills for this coming winter.

This is bound to be an evening of amazing food from EAST's Chef Rob Cunningham and beers courtesy of Great Leap Brewing. Tickets, which cover all the food and beer you could dream of, go for RMB 200 a pop (no discounts for kids, unfortunately, but you can drink their share) and can be purchased through Great Leap Brewing or EAST Beijing.

There'll also be the chance to bid on amazing prizes, including meals at Opera Bombana, Mosto, Agua, Migas, Sureno, Jing Yaa Tang, and more.
