International Impressions: Two Guest Chefs at TRB in November

It seems Temple Restaurant Beijing aren't content with just being named the number one restaurant in Asia, they are also at the forefront of bringing some of the world's most interesting chefs to Beijing as part of their "International Impressions" program.

November sees the last two chefs of 2014 take over the kitchens at TRB. The first is Belgian chef Olly Ceulenaere, who will be cooking up lunch (RMB 588 + 15 percent service charge) on Thursday November 6 and dinner (RMB 788 + 15 percent service charge) on Friday November 7. Ceulenaere, who recieved a Michelin star for his cooking at Kasteel Withof, recently opened his own restaurant, Publiek, in Gent, Belgium. The restaurant has attracted praise for its modern cooking and use of local produce.

Then, at the end of the month, Ice Cream World Champion Gérard Taurin will present a menu inspired by all things ice cream. Taurin is the founder of a group called "Gastronomical Tour of the Anthropology of Ice Association," which looks into the anthropological origins of ice cream around the world. Since 2013, the group has been working on a project called "The Ice Cream Road in China," which traces the roots of ice cream to China, brought back to Europe by none other than our old friend Marco Polo (Ed's note: first pasta, then pizza, now ice cream, what next?). Catch him at lunch on Thursday November 20 (RMB 588 + 15 percent service charge) and at dinner on Friday November 21 (RMB 888 + 15 percent service charge).
