Actor Gao Hu Arrested For Possession of Narcotics, Wanda to Open 200 Theme Parks
The Weibo account of the Beijing Public Security Bureau stated that Chinese actor Gao Hu has been detained for drug abuse. On August 4 in Chaoyang District, he was detained with other suspects reportedly possessing 7g of marijuana and 1g of crystal meth. Urine analysis has since confirmed his use of these drugs.
He's known for his roles in 2006's Return of the Condor Heroes, last year's The Last Tycoon, and a small part as a soldier in Zhang Yimou's Flowers of War.
He is the latest celebrity caught up in a China-wide crackdown initiated by Xi Jinping, due to the ongoing rise in drug use among the upper classes.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Wanda, China's biggest real estate company and cinema chain, now has plans to become the biggest multi-platform entertainment company in the world. We’re sure that Walt Disney is shivering in his deep cryogenic freeze, as Wanda announced that by the year 2020 they will have built 200 children's theme parks.
The theme of the park will consist of a 52-episode series of animations that they have commissioned, the name of which has been translated from Chinese to "Wanda Baby King Park." The development of the park is part of Wanda's plan to expand from real estate into the cultural and entertainment sectors. Owners of the biggest cinema chain in the world, they have now begun to make moves in Hollywood.
