Community Matters: Book Talk With Scott Kronick "The Lighter Side Of China"
Head over to The Bookworm tonight to hear Scott Kronick talk about his new book, The Lighter Side of China. Scott has been living in Beijing for the past 20 years and is currently President and CEO of Ogilvy Public Relations. In his book, Kronick examines his entertaining life experiences living abroad, which is a welcome contrast to your standard business, political, or travel oriented memoir. Scott has a stockpile of wonderful stories that were originally published right here on the Beijinger and is now available in print at The Bookworm. Be sure to ask him how his apartment got crabs.
This talk will begin at 7:30pm this evening, and will be moderated by James McGregor, the former China bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal, and author of such works as No Ancient Wisdom, and No Followers: The Challenges of Chinese Authoritarian Capitalism. It will cost RMB 50 to attend; click here to learn more about Scott.
Also this week, the Crossroads Centre Beijing will have a lecture and Q&A from New York Times journalist Andrew Jacobs. He will discuss his experiences as a foreign correspondent in China as well as his reporting on Chinese politics, environmental issues, human rights, culture and media. This is sure to be an informative event. To find out more info and to RSVP, click here.
