First Notice: The 2014 Bookworm International Literary Festival
We've just received the first announcement for the 2014 edition of the Bookworm Literary Festival. Next year's festival will continue to enlighten the city with two weeks of talks and workshops from visiting and local literary big shots.
Some of the top international names on the roster include Musharraf Ali Farooqi who's novel Between Clay and Dust was shortlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize; David Vann who's penned six international best-sellers, including award-winning Legend of a Suicide; and award-winning Icelandic author Sjon, lyricist for Bjork and Oscar nominee for his work on Dancer in the Dark.
Notable Chinese authors on the roster include Sheng Keyi and Ren Xiaowen. We can also expect a splattering of poets, historians, journalists and youth authors from around the world.
This is but a first look of what's to come. Updates and final confirmations will be coming in over the next two months. Tickets go on sale in February. The 8th Bookworm International Literary Festival will take place from March 7 to 21, 2014.
