Thebeijinger.com, this fine site that you are reading now, is seeking an assistant editor to join our team.

Your duty will be to help maintain and improve Beijing’s essential online resource for the capital’s English-speaking community.

The ideal candidate will possess the following: excellent English writing skills, along with Chinese-language speaking and reading skills; sharp attention to detail; strong technical skills, including experience working with online Content Management Systems such as Drupal or WordPress; a passion for Beijing; and a sense of humor.

This full-time job is based in our office and consists of the following duties: online Events management, including soliciting, writing, moderating and posting events from around Beijing; moderation of Classifieds, including keeping our busy online classifieds section well-edited and organized; blogging and blog support, such as assisting in the maintenance and scheduling of the active Beijinger Blog, along with contributing to it regularly; supporting our newsletter, including making it snazzy and informative; keeping our Forum lively, interesting, informative and on-topic through moderation; freshening our Gallery with quality photographs from events around town;  social media support via Facebook, Twitter, Weibo, Weixin and other platforms; and help shape the future direction of the website through active, creative contributions.
