Talking Tunes: Festivals, Festivals and More Festivals

First of all, don't forget about our Anniversary Party tonight. It's gonna be dead good, and you'll regret missing it. And there will be music, though it's going to be more of the Friday night variety than a school night. Nevertheless, we're looking forward to celebrating our 12th birthday and partying with anyone who makes it along tonight.

Modern Sky Festival have released the offical poster for their upcoming festival. It's a little more tame than their typically saucy offerings.

We mentioned last week about how the Nov 27-Dec 8 festival is returning this year in a multi-venue format, but while there's still no final confirmation from the organizers, it looks like some top acts will be getting in on the action. By now you know better than to start getting overly excited about rumored lineups, but it will definitely represent something to look forward to if organizers can pull off some of the names that are being bandied around.

We await official confirmation and will let you know when we know. It's a safe bet that their official website will be the best place to get the news first or more info about the event. Click that poster up there to go to their website, as if by magic.

The Dong Dong Music Festival draws nearer. Some of their events later this month are listed in our events section, but you can check their official website for the very latest on that particular extravaganza.

And we found out about yet another music festival to look forward to this week when we were contacted by the organizers of the second annual Beijing Electronic Music Encounter (or the rather more catchy BEME 2013). It'll go down on the weekend of October 25 at The Post Mountain in Dongdai MOMA. The two-day event will feature "local and international producers, DJs, and live bands." Click on the poster below for more information and the full lineups.

It seems the Nicki Minaj thing that we got a tad excited about ain't gonna be happening. Still, the flyer (below) for the Storm Electronic Music Festival suggests there'll be some other top acts down in Shanghai over the two days, and at least a couple of those names (Bottled in England, Teddy Boy Kill) are already set for Beijing, too.

Right, that's enough. Time to slip on my dancing shoes for tonight's bash. Go here if you want to know about any music shows coming up in the next few days.
