First Down China: Win an NFL Game Pass in Beijing

The NFL season has already kicked off with a number of American football-related activities underway or coming up in Beijing as the NFL prepares for one of its most active periods ever in China.

While watching the games at Beihang University in Haidian, enjoy food and drink from local Beijing restaurants, including Slow Boat Brewery Taproom. NFL Home Field is already happening, with the next meeting set for this Saturday, followed by another round on October 13.

The NFL Home Field program encourages participation by both experienced players and new ones, by organizing flag football games. Non-team players can learn and practice skills including passing, running, catching and kicking. These sessions are occasionally taught by NFL legends, which in the past have included Barry Sanders and LaDainian Tomlinson.

“NFL’s strong growth in popularity in China over the past two years makes it the right time for the NFL Home Field project. A total of 27 events over nine weeks in three cities will provide a home for NFL’s expanding avid fan base in China,” said NFL China’s Managing Director, Richard Young.

Coming later this season will likely be a visit from the New England Patriots' cheerleaders, and NFL China officials hinted at a Hall of Famer on his way to Beijing and other Chinese cities in November, but wouldn't provide further details.
