Talking Entertainment: Fan Bingbing to Star in New Jackie Chan Film
Fan Bingbing is teaming up with Jackie Chan to star in the action comedian’s latest film project, Skiptrace. Chan’s story is about an American gambler and Hong Kong detective who team up to chase down a notorious criminal. Scenes are expected to be filmed in some of China’s most exotic locations.
Fan has been tearing up the red carpet at Cannes this week to help pitch the new idea and cement her rise to international stardom. The Chinese actress was listed as number one on Forbes' list of Chinese celebrities and nominated The Hollywood Reporter’s International Star of the Year this week. This recognition comes mainly from her somewhat limited role in the highly successful Iron Man 3, released earlier in May.
Moving away from film, UCCA in 798 is opening a new exhibition this weekend. The art center’s grand hall will be filled with a retrospective collection by Wang Xingwei. One of China’s most mature contemporary artists, Wang likes to take a quirky approach to his work. His paintings will be organized by how their subjects relate to the canvas, as in frontal, rear, profile, partial profile. See below:
