Le Petit Gourmand Closes, Jack D to Replace Space
Tongli Studio stalwart Le Petit Gourmand is moving. Closed five days ago, the space that LPG currently occupies will become a bar called Jack D operated by the same management. It's slated to open towards the end of the month, one of the partners, Mr. Cui, told the Beijinger earlier today.
However, fans of the restaurant should not despair. LPG is looking at a bigger space in the Yashow area, which may feature a garden. The move and re-opening should take about three months, Cui said.
It's the second major move for LPG. Long-time Beijingers will remember that LPG once shared a space on the west side of Sanlitun Bar Street with the original incarnation of The Bookworm, in a location close to Cold Stone Creamery in Sanlitun Village South. When the whole area went under the bulldozer to create the new shopping complex, the two parted ways, with LPG moving to Tongli and The Bookworm moving to its present location.
The LPG team's other venue, 99 Degrees, is also undergoing some restyling. Refer to them now by their new name, Top, and swing by this evening for their opening festivities. The party starts at 9pm.
