New Location for INTRO 2013: Capital Steel Factory on West Side
It has just come to our attention that INTRO 2013 has changed their location from Crab Island to Shougang, aka Capital Steel Factory. The factory, situated on the west side of Beijing, houses industrial Bauhaus architecture reminiscent of INTRO's original location at 798's D Park. Last year, the festival underwent a last-minute move from D Park to Crab Island; it was slated to be held at the resort again this year.
Then came today's announcement. Though the news was posted on INTRO's and DJ Weng Weng's Facebook pages just this morning, followers are already psyched. Here's the original post and directions to the new venue. The new location looks incredible – we'll rounding up some photos to give you a taste.

Attention!! The location for INTRO 2013 MUSIC FESTIVAL has changed from Crab Island to SHOUGANG (Capital Steel factory) .
Due to continued problems with Crab Island, we began searching for a replacement venue that would recapture the essence of what INTRO is really about, and we are very pleased to announce that the search is now over!
Shougang, an incredible disused steel factory park, will now host this years INTRO festival continuing the old industrial vibe from the original location in 798, but with an atmosphere that is even better.
It will be located at no.5 stove area/plaza in Shougang - a tall stove mixed with 3 huge 120 meters high smokestacks, which will become the backdrop for the Main Stage. Monstrously huge, yet enclosed – once night falls INTRO’s Main Stage will bathe this dramatic location in lights.
The Syndicate Bass Stage （powered by Sennheiser )will be located at an open-air abandoned coal factory yard, which is not far from the main stage. Gigantic, original machines surround this industrial architecture, making this, literally, the heaviest Bass stage ever at INTRO!
The DISOBEDIENCE Movement stage will be located between the main gate and the main stage with an old train sitting on the railway just in front of it. Expect to experience some seriously powerful Electro Tech/ Indie Dance/ Breakbeat / Nu Disco the moment you get there!
Unfortunately, everyone knows the difficulties and problems that arise from putting on an outdoor event of this size and scale in China, but we believe that in finding this location we have rolled with a punch. We sincerely hope that you will fully support us and understand these factors and in return we promise you won’t regret joining us this year at this amazing secret factory!

*Public Transportation? Take subway line 1 to GuCheng station (Free return shuttles from the station to INTRO)
*Driving? A: Drive all the way west on Chang an Street. (20 km from Tiananmen square – Shougang east gate) B; From west 5th ring (1)– turn west at BaJiao bridge, keep driving to the end of Chang an Street. C; From west 4th ring (2)– WuKeSong bridge turn west, keep driving to the end of Chang an Street.
