Hey Laowai: Heading to the bar & club awards on Saturday? Be sure to carry your proper paperwork (or copies) ... as the crackdown on illegal foreigners is targeting areas like Sanlitun. http://t.cn/zOm4HoD . If you're not legal, best to spend your weekend getting your sh*t together, not partying with us

ok... I was half joking with Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus.

My real favorite beach movie is the 80's classic Back to the Beach where Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello come back 20 years later to parody all of the 60s beach bunny movies they starred in.

I remember as a kid on Sunday afternoons they would show old surf movies then always follow up with Back to the Beach. I must have seen it at least 10 times.

Ok, I'm winning the tickets with this one...

A classic with Lee Marvin:
"Hell in the Pacific" (1968)

Quote:

During World War II, an American pilot and a marooned Japanese navy captain are deserted on a small uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean. There, they must cease their hostility and cooperate if they want to survive, but will they?

It's Cast Away.
It's not a classical "beach movie" but in this stunning movie the beach become itself
the co-star of Tom Hanks who masterly performs the physical and emotional transformation of a FedEx employee stranded on an uninhabited island after his plane crash.

No beach themed competition would be complete without Piñata: Survival Island. Jamie Pressly and the rest of the gang booze it up while the long slumbering Mayan piñata filled with ancient evil souls prays on the group. SPOILER ALERT: They eventually take him down by beating the ancient Mayan piñata with a stick. Did I mention there was a montage?

Ladies and gents,
We're giving you another 24 hours to enter this competition. It will now end on Thursday, May 17 at noon.

Also, Side Out. C. Thomas Howell as a law student turned beach volleyballer and loads of outrageous '80s beachwear.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned this beach film: Castaway. Definitely the best beach film, who doesn't love Tom Hanks? He makes the best of a horrible situation, very resourceful guy, goes a little insane but who wouldn't? Everyone remembers the heart-wrenching scene where Wilson the volleyball, his only "friend" gets swept away by the ocean and the subsequent rescue. The story is very real and doesn't have a utopian happy ending, which is only good for sappy love stories.

Blue Hawaii 1961

Who: Elvis Presley
What: Happy to be back in Hawaii, soldier Chad Gates (played by Elvis Presley) was released from the Army and decided to work as a tour guide at his girlfriend’s agency. This Movie is a CLASSIC and it has the Belated and LOved King ELVIS PRESLEY! It does not get any better than this :
