the Beijinger's Six-Word Writing Competition: The Final

You may have noticed 50 of our favorite entries into our recent six-word writing competition in the March issue of the Beijinger. If you've not then you can check them out on Issuu.com. We've now – after much deliberation in the office – picked the 48 that we think best represent the hundreds of entries we received. These 288 words constitute the final of "Your Beijing In Just Six Words" and it's time for you to vote on them. Read on to find out how.

Voting is easy. All you need to do is use the survey below and pick your favorite in each selection. The match-ups are at random so feel free to vote again and again – but no stuffing the ballot, kids. This final will be in two parts and voting on this part will end at 10am on Friday (March 9). The second survey will begin soon after; it will close early next week, allowing ample time for us to contact the three winners before their public debut at the Beijinger's "Pop-Up Magazine" event at The Bookworm International Literary Festival on March 16.

A selection of the entries are already on display at The Bookworm (pictured above) – and you can also add your own works of six-word art to The Bookworm's wall.

We will reveal every single entry of the hundreds we received after the final has been decided. In the meantime, happy voting.

That's true. All of the entries must be six words long and they must be in English. That doesn't exclude hyphenated words or pinyin.

Anything that was seven words was automatically disqualified. You'll be able to see all of the entries (that were fit to print) early next week.
