Win Tickets: D’Julz Plays Lantern This Weekend
French house and techno alchemist D’Julz plays Lantern this Saturday (Mar 10), and we've got a pair of tickets to give away to one reader. First of all though, our interview with D'Julz: Inspired by our March theme of writing and publishing, we asked him about writing, writers and the importance of being silent.
If you were a writer, what kind of books would you be doing?
Probably an autobiography, or something about the history of the French electronic scene.
Who are your favorite writers? And if they were DJs, what would they be playing?
Bret Easton Ellis – cold wave. Chuck Palahniuk – punk rock. Milan Kundera – jazz.
Do you enjoy silence?
I need silence. To think, to meditate, and to rest my ears after many hours in a club.
If Paris was reduced to a single sound, what would it be?
The noise a train makes as it enters a Metro station – metal grinding and echoing in a tunnel. Definitely the sound of underground Paris.
